Marquetry
The art of marquetry dates back thousands of years and involves the use of thin veneers and layers of materials such as hardwood, shell, and ivory to create patterns and designs on objects. By cutting and fitting pieces together, skilled craftsmen give form to mesmerising images.
Inlay
Inlay is similar to marquetry but instead of assembling a large panel of veneer, the decoration is inset into a recess cut into a larger panel of wood.
